Angry Dodge 5.9L problems

K so here's a little of what I've tried so far while trying to figure this thing out. This truck is a 2000 Dodge 1500 with a 5.9L v8. It has a terrible miss and wont Idle. I've scanned it with a computer and come up with 2 codes. P0205 and P0207, Injector 5 and Injector 7 control circuit. I've tested the wiring from the computer to the injectors and also from the shut down relay to the injectors, all checks out good. Also hooked a noide light to the injector connection and all seems normal. I replaced injector #7 just to see if the injectors were bad and causing the codes and misfire but it made no difference. Also I replaced the MAP sensor as I heard that it can cause the engine to miss like this, no difference there either. I'm really stumped on this and don't know where to go from here. Any ideas???

Where did you get your replacement injector? Was it known good? Have you checked resistance of the injectors themselves?

This could also be a short in the wiring somewhere.....

The injector was a new one, so I'm assuming it's a good one. I havent tested the injectors themselves yet, I'm not sure what the resistance levels there are supposed to be. Also I havent tested the harness wire to wire yet to determine if there are any that are shorted together there.

The fact that every test comes out ok.... (noid light, etc.) is just bizarre. I think the injectors are supposed to be around 12 to 15 ohms?

What you could do.... is swap 5, and 7, with 1, and 3. See if your codes migrate.

Thats where I got stumped too, the fact that everything tests out ok has really got me fooled. I'll try moving the injectors around and testing the resistance on each one. Other than that... and testing the harness a little deeper... Could the crank sensor or something along those lines cause something like this??

it kinda sounds like what my truck was doing about two months ago, maybe check your TPS or O2 sensors (pre-cat and post-cat).

I am havimg the same problem.
I need some advice on a problem I'm having with my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 5.9L Sport Package. I was getting the code P0207, and a friend of mine told me that Fuel Injector #7 was bad. Today I changed the fuel injector #7 and the injector plug, cleared the code and it ran fine for a while, but then it started throwing the P0207 code and 1493. When I take off it hesitates and is running rough. I really don't know where to go from here. ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated!

Check the wiring connectors at the PCM end. They like to corrode. Its a real possibility the injector was fine.
