and so the clunking begins.....
hey guys. i have this weird clunking problem coming from the front end. i just started noticing it yesterday, i have checked the shock bolts, and sway bar end links. any ideas on what else to check? it gets annoying after a while. its almost like i can feel it through the floor. any help and ideas are appreciated. thanks!
this only happens when i go over small to medium bumps, and dips in the road. i do have a bad drivers side axle joint, but i know thats not it.

should have mentioned that its only when i go over small bumps and dips. i know i have a bad u joint on the drivers side front axle, but i know its not that. it feels as though its hitting the floor boards. its quite odd.
If you suspect the track bar then you need to get an assistant to help you check it.
Start the truck and have your assistant saw the wheel about 1/4 turn back and forth while you look at the track bar where it's connected to the axle. Also look at all the other suspension components while everything is moving.

New guy here! I am comming over from ********* and pavementsucks. I read this thread and just had to sign up. Plus this forum has A TON of good info!
I have the same clunking issue. Something I have recently discovered is that there are major flaws in our steering colum, and thats where a good majority of clunking problems come from. Check out... http://www.rocksolidramtrucksteering.com/
I think I have narrowed my problem down to this. I have not checked yet to make sure (I just discovered this two hours ago) But I think I will be ordering this part. I have checked everything else (joints, busings, rods, shocks, ect) Check out the site and good luck!
