Default speedometer issue

So my speedometer isn't working above ~25MPH. I also had the problem of abs and brake light coming on at weird times and started throwing a P0734. Through searches I came up with the VSS on the transfer case, replaced that. CEL and brake and ABS lights have all gone off, but speedometer still isn't working above 25. ANy ideas?

As far as I know there is a secondary sensor on the transmission, but I don't think that has anything to do with the speedometer. I believe that sensor only controls certain things about shift patterns.

I have had a sensor from Autozone that was dead in the box. I went to O'Reilly auto parts and picked up a Borg Warner Distribution sensor and I've not had a single problem out of it.

There is a speedometer adapter that the sensor plugged into, and I when i installed it wrong i had no speedometer at all. Does the 97 have another sensor on the rear diff?

I can try and get another sensor. Usually i do pretty well with carquest. Just think it's weird that everything else now works

I am not sure on the 1997 version, but I know on my 1999 (2wd) there is a sensor on the top of the differential that controls the speedometer/ABS. It's called a Rear Wheel Anti-Lock Sensor.
