Something I learned recently, fwiw, is the IAT will dump/pull fuel depending on it's temperature.. In the meantime, you could put that rascal somewhere it stays really cool..

15:1 will drip your pistons pretty quick.. valve/valve seats are at risk.. I bet you got a lotta cash in that monster of yours- I'd hate to hear of it going out this way!

email Sean and see if he can get you a tune turned around pretty quick.. I had an issue with too rich, and he squared me away in a matter of maybe a half hour with a tune I'm still using.

Marty at KRC used to tell guys that the stock rad wasn't efficient enough for a magnum 408. Perhaps contact richard the hipotek guy and ask him what he thinks.

IIRC, I think marty said a radiator from a 2500 serieswas bigger and dropped right in.

The OP doesn't mention having this problem until putting the F1 back on. He does mention however, that T-stats fail open, which is not true. They fail closed most times.

going to change the stat just for the heck of it and test it.

Who is sean; Hemifever. if so I thought about paying him to take over my tuning. if I dont have a tune by tomorrow i will.

I will check into a bigger rad just for the heck of it. but my issue currently is not the radiator. not 4 miles of 1500 rpm cruising

So did this problem exist before putting the F1 back on? (the running hot)

yes but not as bad as it is now. and I suspect that is because of the cold air intake letting more air in causing an even leaner condition.

still need to know what sensor is on which side of the t-stat. Crazyer things have caused problems

where did you put the IAT? If it's somewhere where it's really hot, it will pull a ton of fuel.. If it's in a cold spot it will dump it.. May be worth a try.

Boil the old tstat in water and see where it opens.

Dumb question, but you didn't happen to install it upside down did you? spring side down is right.

Not sure which temp sensor controls fuel, only one on 2001 models. Might swap them to see if one causes the dash to read funny.

Drivers side of stat: Two prong sensor for PCM.

Passenger side of stat: Single wire sensor for the gauge.
