Default airgap help

Reinstalled the air gap and a cold air intake. Temp is running a little high. And I cant find my instructions for my air gap.

What side of the thernostat (passenger or driver) do the coolant switch(one wire) and the coolant temp sensor (two wire) go on?

Please help

I don't think it matters bro- they are both gauging temperature of the coolant, and the places they mount are within 3" of each other..

Default overheating

investigating all my options. within 4 miles of sub1500 rpm curising its up to 220 degrees and stays. had my tuner pull some timing back and add fuel but that did not help. going to chck my air fuel now

oil is good. same new stat that was in it. and they normally fail in the open position.

drained some coolant to change some stuff and re-toped it off and its still the same.

a/f is around 15.0 from 2-4 grand too lean/too much timing

Are you running a 408? Do you have the stock radiator in it?

yeah 408. and stock radiator. I never went over 2000 rpm for my 4 mile cruise. 440's came with smaller radiators and worse designed water pumps.

not saying my cooling system is perfect but it would have to be totally blocked to have thoses results.

On top of that the temp would continue to rise if the coolant system was blocked

15:1 a/f is nuts dude.. that would absolutely run that hot.. AND- it likely explain the plateau.. you sure you didn't accidentally put a 360 tune on it? How big are those spitters?

ummm no.

Been changing my setup on this motor for the past year.

It would get up to 195 driving and 215 stop and go in the summer.

Now that I put the cold air on it with the hughes it does as explained eairler.

32lb. injcectors.

No my guy is tring to get it sorted out. its like pulling teeth tho.
