so why don't they just make a new box with gears that are available then? you would think if this was a reacurring problem everywhere that some kind of suit would have followed or something?!

i seen the link thanks! but i just can't afford that right now . so do u think trying to find a low mileage box from a salvage yard would be better than a reman?
But anyway, save your money and do it right the first time! You'll be much happier with your steering in the end. Plus you wont have a collection of crappy Dodge steering gears in your garage.
so how long do you think the one i have will last? there is no clunking or any noise just play in the wheel. it would take me awhile to save that much.

Forever is my best guess. It'll just be very loose.
is there bushings or anything that might be wore out that need to be replaced? i ask cuz maybe it's that and not the box since the only sympton is loose wheel.
