did you check if the bulbs are blown? then check the voltage at the bulbs contact points, check wiring under the truck. start at the back and work your way up front.

yes the bulbs are fine because they still light up when you turn your lights on but the back up lights do not work only the ones that are in the red part of the tailight come on but they do not get brighter when you hit the pedal like they should

Make sure the brake pedal switch isn't broke, loose or disconnected. It may still need to be replaced as suggested. But a visual inspection is a good place to start. Also trace and check the wiring at the rear, since the reverse lights don't work either.

How do you know it works? Did you test it with a meter or something? You just have to go through everything. No one here can tell you what is wrong. All we can do is suggest where and what to look at.

the only reason i know that it works is that my dad was reading the wiring diagrams or whatever there called and he somehow know that its working and i trust him. he would fix it he just doesnt have the time and hes pushing me to fix all my problems myself

Open up the steering column, and have a look at the wiring by the multifunction switch. I am going to guess that you have tilt steering?

Umm dont these trucks run dual filament bulbs hi\lo ? your running lights may still work, but if the Hi filament could be burnt out? do not assume any thing, as the saying goes its makes an @ss out of u and me.

you also stated that the break light on the cab works, so it has to be wiring or the bulbs because every thing is on the same circuit
