Default 99 Dodge Ram Sport Front End Questions

Hello-

I am new to this forum, I picked up my first dodge, a 99 Ram 1500 Sport cheap. The previous owner owned it for a short time and beat the crap out of it, it was a nice truck not too long ago. The front bumper is busted up as well as the hood, i am pretty sure but i would like to confirm that a hood/bumper from a 94-01 dodge 2500/3500 would fit this truck. From what i understand the sport bumper would not work with a regular hood, but if you got both a regular hood and bumper it would fit on the truck. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Also, would it be a bad idea to rhino line the outside of the truck? The truck is going to be a farm truck.

Thanks.

Oh that poor Sport.

A regular SLT Ram grille and bumper will fit on your Sport. Remember you just need to get new bumper brackets as they are different. You can use the hood that is on the truck.

Remove those damn chrome hood vent stick on things. Real ones belong on old Buicks, stick on ones belong in the trash.

the hoods are the same from 94-02, 1/2-1 ton, the only difference is 99-02 the sport had a body-colored grille, bumper and tail light trim.

it looks like the pervious owner replaced the sport grille with a regular chrome one.

and as far as rhino lining, i did mine in my drive way with a sand-blasting gun, and a small compressor, i think it looks good and is very unique, it also covered up all the paint chips and dents!

Hey thanks for the help. My intentions were to get a hood and a bumper, a guy has a front end off of a 3500, I did not know i would need the brackets but i will see if i can get them as well. The fake vents look like crap.

99Dodge318 your dodge looks pretty sharp.

Welcome to the Sport family! i also like the front bumper on the sport package. I havn't seen too much diffrence with the ST SLT trim RAM hoods from the Sports. Hell man more power to ya. it looks farly simple to do.

Are you just wanting to rhinoline the bottom portion, like 99dodge318, or the whole thing? If it's the whole thing, you might double check your suspension, that stuff gets heavy if you do a full cover.
