Default ABS, Brake Light, and P0734

So I have the ABS and brake lights on again with P0734. Had this problem a couple weeks ago and it was fixed by replacing the vehicle speed sensor and the ABS wheel speed sensor (on a 1997 their are two, from searching on here this was apparently the last year before they were combined). On the ABS sensor there were two options, a $17 option and a $40 sensor, do you think this could be caused by having bought the wrong one? Or is there a problem elsewhere in the system that could be causing the sensors to short out?

My ABS and Brake lights were on. I replaced the ABS sensor on the top of the rear diff and that did nothing. I then replaced my blown up wheel cylinders and adjusted my brakes and the light went off. Check those rear brakes and see if anything has run a muck.

I'll check them out this weekend. I am guessing the speed sensor with the CEL though.

Maybe so. I've been told by a couple much smarter guys on here that our trucks don't like many brand sensors other than OEM and some NGK/NKT. That being said, the ABS Sensor I put on was a NAPA brand.

so for ****s and giggles i cleared the CEL, and everything is now normal. Any ideas on what would cause an intermittent problem like this?

my abs light is on cuz my rear brakes are worn to nothing....

and if you had no speedo as well, then it would be the speed sensor in the transfer case....and make sure you put the punched numbers in the right direction......i didnt do this and wasted $40 bucks on a sensor....

Replaced that one already. I did the same thing with the punched numbers, but I checked my repair manual before going back to carquest
