Hold one hammer on top of the part where the stud goes thru the link, hit the bottom, opposite the first hammer. Works great. Gotta hit it pretty hard, and sometimes a couple times.

I did mine yesterday and its a 2001 Ram quad cab 4X4. I just left the nut on the end of the stud and just whacked the damn thing. It dropped to the nut and all I had to do is take a wrench and get the nut off. Ive seen the heat method done and then ya just whack the stud on top......it fell right off. I have a puller but its never been out of the box.

Someone suggested using that keyboard cleaner upside down (it freezes stuff) then give it a whack.

Many things to try but air tools work nicely!!

Update: Sorry it took me so long to get back to you guys but the two hammer trick worked well. I smacked it until I saw the taper slip a little bit then just hit it a few times from the top and it dropped right out. Thanks for the advice.
