4x4 camber problem

Default 4x4 camber problem

1995 ram 2500 4x4 5.9l. front wheels are tilting in. and by tiltin IN i mean when looking from the front the top of the tire is tilting into the wheel well. since you cant adjust for camber on 4x4's what suspention components are causing the tilt? ball joints?

Could be bad ball joints or hub bearing assembly. But most likely the axle itself has sagged. Pretty common. Adjustable ball joints can be purchased to correct the problem.

Chock the wheels, jack up one corner, grab top and bottom of wheel and see if you can move it back and forth.

and if they do move then what does that hint at? hub?

Or hub/bearing units..... see where the movement is, then, replace that (those...) part(s).

Ater you fix all that, be sure to have alingment checked and your toe in checked too.

How can an axle sag? I should say that I know HOW it could sag but considering the location of the point loads and the material properties, it does not seem probable.

Caster adjustments will affect the camber. Get alignment done.

dealer tried to charge me over $300 to "frame straighten" the housing so they could set camber, i ran outta there quickly with tires squeeling and went to the parts store...MOOG sells an adjustable ball joint to fine tune camber and the price depending on ur area is around $75...
