Default 3rd gen 20" wheels

will the 3rd gen 20x9 wheel with 275/60/R20 tires be wider than my current factory 16x7.5 wheels with 305/70 tires?

275/60/20 = 33x10.8/20

305/70/16 = 32.8x12/16

Slightly taller, and a fat inch narrower.

yea, i do realize the tires will be narrower, but, i guess what i was asking was- will the 9" width of the new rims compensate for the narrower tire?

as far as looks go, are they going to look really narrow from the front and rear

i thought wider rims was what made all the difference?

still waiting on word from the shop, in case you were wondering. last time i talked to him he said they have been busy prepping the track cars for upcoming races... so im getting a bit annoyed to say the least...

Got shuffled to the back burner eh? Yeah, racing season takes it toll on the non-racers...... but, that's where the machine shops make most of their money.

The wider rims will contribute to section width increasing on the 20's, but, not all that much. Will it be noticeable? Probably not. (as in, look to skinny) Tires are still going to be wider than the rims, From the front/back, I doubt you will be able to discern a visible difference.

Holy Crap!

Take 'em off, sell the tires for 8-900, whatever you can get, and get some bigger meats.

I suspect it isn't going to ride very nice with that tiny of a sidewall.... You are going to be on a first name basis with every little bump you drive over.
