Default DEATH WOBBLE! help!

as the tittle reads i had an expirence with the all-knowwn DEATH WOBBLE or ROAD WALK

ok so the other day i was slowing down to stop at a stop light and i noticed my truck pulsated all the way to the light.

i just shrugged it off as a rough road, but it happened again a few days later but the pulsating turned into a shutter, then out of nowhere it started shaking violently!

i did not know what to do so i shifted into neutral, and grasped the steering wheel trying to fight the wobble and pulled all the way off the road!

my friend was behind me and called me instantly saying that it looked like i was about to roll my truck! it really scared the **** out of me!

anyways so my question is what could be causing this? could it be warped rotors? bad shocks? worn-out front end?

i really want to fix this, but dont want to replace my whole brake system to find out its the front end, or vise versa.

any help will be appreciated, thanks guys

Best bet would be to put it up on jackstands and inspect EVERYTHING in the front suspension/steering/brakes. DW is generally a bad track bar..... but, other bad parts can also contribute to it.

how can i tell if my track bar is bad? does it get bent? do the bushings go out?

and heyyou can you post a link to where you bought yours

i was thinking about getting

the rock-ram steering fix
a steering box stabilizer
a dual steering stabilizer
hbs leveling completer kit
and the go through and replace all the ball-joints and suspension bushings

guess i have my next pay-check spent! lol damn money-pit

Then don't replace things for the heck of it. Check ALL the steering components by unlocking the steering wheel(don't start engine) and have a friend saw the wheel back and forth, while you look at all the components starting at the firewall. To check the steering column bushing, grab the column where it exits the firewall under the brake booster and see if it wobbles around.

Btw, death wobble and trac bars are a couple of the most common talked about issues around here. A search next time, will yield even more info.

99% of the time it is the track bar bushing where the bar attaches to the frame. I installed a Luc's Link for $50 I think and it solved the problem. It is built pretty well and has a grease fitting as well. I have since replaced tie rods, but never the track bar.
