Iod fuse
my problem.
- my truck has randomly started blowing the IOD fuse along with the seatbelt fuse.
specs:
-1999 dodge ram 1500 318, it has tow mirrors installed and i have fixed the pinched wire problem and have unplugged them in order to find the problem so just to be clear its not that.
it started a couple weeks ago when I noticed my stereo was off so i checked the fuse and sure enough the IOD fuse was blown so i replaced it and it worked fine for a couple weeks, then one night i was moving stuff into my new place and had the drivers door open and the interior light started to dim and then the fuse blew. i didnt have any replacement fuses so i stuck a 20A in (stupid i know) and it held for about 3-4 seconds and popped, so i went and got some more 10A fuses and as soon as i put the fuse to the contacts it would pop so i left it untill last week when i tried it again after looking everywhere for bad wires and it held the fuse, untill the next morning i hoped in and it was blown.
my question:
- what all is on the IOD circuit? i have unplugged the lighter and it wasnt the issue if someone has a list of things that are on the IOD circuit that would be awesome because then i can start narrowing it down more. also why would the seatbelt fuse blow with the IOD?? this problem is really staring to annoy me as im worried about getting a seatbelt ticket and the damn straight pipes are getting annoying with no radio (added note i have straight pipped it and the O2 sensors are unplugged but i doubt that has anything to do with it unless them gettin wet would cause it)
sorry for the huge write up but im trying to make it as specific as possible

my daughter bought a bluetooth dual rado model xdma6630 and scosche cr012 install kit for her 95 ram 2500 cummins. everything plugs in great but when i hook up the blue power ant/amp wire to the right wire on the plug, when i power up the radio it blows the fuse for the dome lights and radio. unhook the blue wire the radio works but not much volume through the speakers. i know the radio is a cheap unit but its all she can afford. this truck had the infinity sound system, which the radio was missing.
any help would really be appreciated.
