Thanks I read somewhere that the torque converter needs to be changed along with the flexplate but i wasnt sure if that actually needed to be done. The article said something about the 318 being internally balenced and the 360 being externally balenced and im not what that means.
Your long block should come with the correct harmonic dampner, but, you will have to source the correct flex-plate. (chrysler calls it a drive plate....) I think there was some differences in torque converters in the earlier years as well.... but, I can't remember the solid information on that. It's here somewhere on the forums.......

does any one know if it is a direct bolt up at the bell housing? ya I am running nv 3500 and should upgrade to 4500 but ???. think of it this way I am the test dummy. but cant afford for my truck to be down for more than a couple of days during the switch so any advise would be apreciated.

If you can't afford downtime, don't do it. These kinds of jobs are NOTORIOUS for coming up with neat little surprises, that require additional parts.... or, something critical breaks..... and you can't get another for several days. You would be much further ahead rebuilding another 5.2, that will just drop in and work. Otherwise, you are pretty much assured to have more down time than you want.

You need a 360 flywheel. Problem is that the 5.9L never came with a NV3500. The NV4500 flywheel with balance weight for the 5.9L might work. A few people have swapped in a 5.9L and had an NV3500 so it is possible.
Bellhousings on Magnum engines are the same.
5.2L computer will run a 5.9L but it would be best to get your computer reflashed. Don't hold out for a used one as the 5.9L manual 2500 is rare.
