As far as ford goes...

My 2003 Crown Vic P71 Police interceptor is BY FAR the best vehicle ive ever owned.. Drives like a dream, very good on gas and loads of power. Very reliable car. 200000 plus
My wifes old for focus we sold @ 173000 miles Also VERY RELIABLE. My 95 gt vert that i sold was also a very nice car (minor wiring and egr issues constantly). In short, i think ford makes very good CARS... BUT

**** ON THEIR TRUCKS(exept7.3 powerstrokes).
Every single f150 my dad, or my friends have EVER owned have been nothing but a money pit...

My 5.9 has 170000k on it and starts and runs as well as my p71. Only wish it got the same mpg.

You fanboys are hilarious. To the OP, its not a very practical swap. There's nothing wrong with the engine you have, but it will be a ton of work getting it working with the existing truck. Particularly the electronics.

I've had a 95, 99, and 2003 CVPI. I loved 'em. The modular 4.6 V8 is a good motor. Never had a single transmission problem out of that car either. The 2003 had a little bit of a steering issue, but that was the first year for Rack & Pinion, so I wasn't too upset about it.

I've had 302's and modular 4.6's. I like the 302's better. I think they are great motors in my opinion, not because they will outlast a 318, but because of the aftermarket that is available for them. We would be so lucky if we had aftermarket for 318/360's like there are for 302's. I think it would be cool to run a 302 in a Ram personally. I don't think it would add much in the way of performance or anything, but would be a neat thing to say you did. The job to make it work would probably be fairly complicated unless you by-passed all the electronics and just ran old school. Still be looking at a lot of work though.

I agree with TheBigRedOne and Silver.

The 302 is a great motor, but it would be more sensible to sell it, and build up a nice 318 or 360 and drop in the Ram. Much less headache.

I think it would be cool as H3ll to say that you put a built ford motor in a dodge....i see things like this all the time at my local dragtrack (Brianerd International Raceway) Most of them Chevy motors in other cars cause shevy stuff is adime a dozon with cheap aftermarket parts. I will say the fords and mopars seem t outdo them constantly racing and get rebuilt much less. Im all for keeping whateverbrand itself, but hey if you have the parts time and skills go for it and post many videos and pictures doing it. But i do just wanna remind you guys that every top fuel dragster funny car or alchohol cars in the NHRA run the HEMI design...so GO MOPAR!...lol
