Default Gas gauge reads wrong...

Ok so I've searched this forum n didn't find an answer to my problem..

The P.O. states that the truck will die and not start back up if the gas gauge reads halfway between 1/4-1/2 mark. I haven't tested this out yet, but I'll take his word on it.. He mentioned that he had the rear gas strap replaced. N he thinks they might of either used the wrong strap!?! Causing the rear of the gas tank to sit up higher then the front..?.. or messed something up when installing it!?!

Check my sig. for my truck info.

Thanx

Check the harness back by the gas tank. I doubt the wrong strap could cause this problem, as the straps press the tank against the upper mounts anyway...... More likely is a wiring problem, or, a sending unit problem.
