Default gearing

I have a 95 4x4 2500 with a v-10. Going down the freeway it seems really wound up. It runs around 2800 rpm. just running 265/70/17 tires so that wouldnt be a big deal. Any ideas????

It's not kicking into overdrive. I would start by checking the button in the dash that locks out overdrive. It's been about 8 years since I drove my 95 so I can't recall if it's a momentary switch or not.

The switch does light up for the OD off. It still does nothing. I have a book but it doesnt go that into detail about the overdrive switch. Any other ideas???

Only an o2 sensor code. I think it was 21. I saw on another site it could be the OD switch in the tranny????

It could very well be the OD solenoid. One would think there would be a code. I'm not sure how you could test it. The RH tranny is different than the RE. Any info or links I could provide are for the RE and most likely won't help . However, You should trace the wires and check the plug on the tranny and swap the trans relay with another one. Relays are under hood in the PDC(black box by battery)
