And other small details that we forget to mention like taking off the MC cap before compressing the piston with a C clamp to release the pressure, so nothing gets blown out.

That's why I always tell people to get a manual. I have no problem helping people, but we all forget certain things. And I for one don't want some one pizzed at me for f'n up their ride. LOL

a manual is good but people think they can figure it out and skip steps i still say have a buddy walk you thru it

Well that's there problem if they want to skip steps, and not everyone has a buddy who knows how to work on vehicles. Heck, not everyone has a buddy! LOL

The buddy would also have to be real good and know torque specs for different jobs off the top of his head. Of course you could always find a buddy with a manual. lol

When I rebuilt my tranny, I read the manual cover to cover for a month before I went in for the rebuild. 12k miles later it shifts as smooth as silk.
