Default removing the a/c

has anyone done this? mine doesnt work and any info on removing the entire system would be great. i dont wanna recharge the system. windows down in the summer is fine with me

Weight savings won't really give you much in the way of a boost in fuel economy..... However, everything except the evaporator core just unbolts. Tape off the electrical connectors, put on the idler pulley in place of the compressor, (or get a shorter belt....) and you are done.

I know none of us are never ever going to sell our trucks but you have to think about resale value as well. Personally, after driving a Dakota with no a/c for 12 years, when seeking out my recent purchase, it had to have air, working or not I wanted the option there. Fortunately it works
