Running hot after plenum fix
As the title states my truck is now running hotter than it was before.

Also I can't keep the thermostat housing from leaking around the base. I've literally tried everything and it still leaks.

I had this problem also when I did my plenum fix. I changed both sensors -- the sender and the sensor (I have a '97 1500). These are to the right and left of the thermostat housing. Come to find out, the brand new sender was giving a reading like what you posted in the picture. I have a 180 stat. The sender is the one on the left side of the stat -- passenger side. After having done just about everything in the book, I finally decided to take the sending sensor out and put the old one back in. Solved the problem.
Mine was broke and I put another one I had laying around in. Hmmm, I'll have to check it out when it cones back from being painted. Which ones sends readings to the computer?

The sending sensor is to the left of the thermostat housing (passenger side). It is the one that has only 1 metal prong. The temp. sensor is to the right of the housing. Now, when I had the new sending sensor in, I had the local shop to put a scanner on it and it ran normal temperature. So, it wasn't really running hot. Putting the old temperature sending sensor back in, the temp. gauge read accurately. Hope you get it figured out. It is severely aggravating, I know.
The weird thing is last night when I finished up and drove it, it stayed at 195 now it's running like 210. I know that's considered normal but I don't like to see that gauge over 200. Before you could have the ac blasting in 100 degree weather sitting in bumper to bumper traffic and it wouldnt go over 200. That's after I put a new radiator and fan clutch on.
