that's the CAD. central axle disconnect. passenger side of front axle.
you can remove it and reseal it with RTV.
spray some penetrating oil on the bolts for a couple of days. they like to snap off.

Once I get it off is there something I'm suppose to do to it? Like a gasket or sealant or what?

^^^^What he said... Keep your diff topped off in the mean time (80-90 weight gear oil). Definitely don't want to run that sucker dry or you'll be rebuilding it next.

Soak the bolts with pb blaster or the like beforehand to ensure that they dont break off.

They make a gasket for it, but I usually use RTV blue (silicone gasket maker).

RTV and duct tape could hold the world together.

Clean both surfaces thoroughly and lay a bead of RTV around them (encircle the bolt holes). Put her back together and wait 12-24hrs for it to cure. Then check for leaks and top off the diff. Done.

Oh, and keep in mind that some gear oil will inevitably spill out when you take it off, so have a bucket handy.

The front diff is supposed to take 75 140 gear oil.

RTV= room temperature vulcanizing.... fancy way of saying it turns from a liquid to solid silicone at room temp. You'll want the blue kind for this application.

Pretty sure it's 80-90... but I could be wrong. Ask the guy at the parts counter.

I cant even get the guy at my Advance Auto to get me a NGK spark plug for my mower, how do you expect them to give him the right fluid? The dumbass would probably tell him to go get some Type-F transmission fluid.

The correct fluid is 75W-140 synthetic. Change it and the rear fluid while you are doing the gasket.
