swapping motors

just curious on what i have to do to put a diesel in my 1/2 ton pick-up i have a ram 250 its a 91 and i have a 96 1500 so i was wondering if everything would work out the same. as in what would i need off the donor truck

Engine, fuel system, transmission....... and a host of other little parts. No clue if the mounts would be the same. Is that a 5.9 diesel?
Would be a boatload of work. Tricky part is going to be trans, and the dash gauges. Most of them are run by the PCM....... your stock trans won't bolt to the oil burner......

Cummins will crush your front suspension, you need to get coils out of a cummins.
2nd gen cummins motor mounts should go into your motor mounts and bolt to the cummins.

why do people always bring up the gauges. leave the stock v8 wiring for the sending units and just hook up the 3 wires you need to start and run the diesel.

Or, it may just trip the ASD relay, and be done with it, and nothing will work at all.......
