I always carry as spares the last of the serpentine belt, radiator hoses, distributor cap, rotor, and a few plug wires that still have some life left in them, or new parts if I don't have any old ones with some life left. Spare new fuses and relays are always in the toolbox, along with some epoxy gas tank patch and a few feet each of trans cooler and fuel lines. My long road trip new spares are starter, alternator, and water pump.

I figure that I'm going to use the starter, alternator, and water pump eventually so keeping them on hand is just good sense. If you buy lifetime warranted parts it doesn't really matter when you use them, and if you buy them from a national chain and keep the receipts you can get your core charges back long after the purchase -- I've had no problem doing so, anyway.

And of course I always carry spare vital fluids.

Travel safely and enjoy the ride!

Fail on moving back to Ft Lauderdal, and I would make sure your tools are easy to get to and make sure breaker bad and correct size socket for lug nuts is ready to go, if it is a double axle trailer I hope you got a couple spares for the trailer.

Water is another good thing, make sure trailer hubs are greased and tires are not rotted too bad. Always good to have a couple sections of different size wire and electrical tape, make sure trailer lights all work, and check ball latch to make sure its not gonna fall apart on the trip.
