Default Rear end not aligned with wheel well

im curious how critical the alignment is with the rear wheels being centered in the wheel well. if you look at my truck in the "garage" youll see the rear wheels are closer towards the front of the truck and not centered properly. did buddy who put the lift in do this or is it natural? is it an easy fix? i can upload a closer shot of the wheel and wheel well if needed

not a clue man, all i know is when i look at a side view of the truck the wheel is way too far forward in the wheel well, its not centered at all. its about an inch and a half from touchin the well in the front and about 4 or 5 inchs from the rear lol

im suprized he hasnt had the drivetrain lock up. seems like it would throw off the alignment of the shaft and pinion angle or something.

If I had to guess, he probably put a shackle flip on it for lift in the rear, but didn't install a zero rate block. When you flip the shackle in the back (and don't lower the front spring mount the same distance) it will push the axle forward a few inches. A zero rate block allows the axle to be mounted in a different location on the springs, effectively centering the axle again.

http://s1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc460/acewyatt/ is the link to my photobucket of the result of the diff being turned up too high of an angle. this happened yesterday. the U shaped clips that hold the u-joint to the yoke tore apart and thats the result BLAH

Looks for all the world like the u-bolts that hold the axle to the leaf springs simply weren't tight, and allowed the axle to shift under power.

Those don't look like stock blocks in the back either. No bump stop on 'em?

I didn't see a good pic of the rear spring mounts.

i do believe the rear spring mounts are stock and they are un-damaged same with shocks, springs and mounts. the U-bolts could have been loose which would explain the topic of why the diff was turned up to high and off center of the wheel well, and the result is whats in the pics. now i just gotta find jackstands big enough to fit my truck and let the show begin lol.
