Here is a before and after.

That is a beautiful truck. Very Nice.

Sharp looking truck after you removed the trim.

Demoes where did you get the bug guards for the hood/headlights? My truck was missing one when I bought it and I was looking to replace it.

I have the bug gaurds over my headlights too, bought it as a kit with the grill one, headlight ones, headlight covers, and the window rain deflectors (i think) the rain deflectors may not have been in the kit.

Just spent two days taking the old trim off the 97 Flame Red Ram. The clearcoat wants to come off. I used a hair dryer on the high heat setting to heat up the tape underneath. Using a slim utility knife, I cut the adhesive from between the truck and the trim. I figured I'd rather see what I was doing, leaving more adhesive on the truck. Go slowly and the trim comes off fairly well.

Getting the trim off was easy compared to the adhesive left on the truck. I finally got it figured out, though. Goo Gone (WD-40 works too) and the cheapest plastic spoon you can find. Try the spoon that wants to break picking up Jello because it is softer and more flexible.

Soak the adhesive with Goo Gone and gently scrape with the spoon, bottom of the spoon towards you. The spoon flexes around the curves and lifts the adhesive. Once you find the right pressure, there are no scratches. Wipe clean and repeat if needed.

As I said, two days, but about two hours after figuring out the above method. I found lots of rust pits because of the open ends of the original trim, so gotta work on that now.

But it means more time in the garage, or as my wife calls it, the Office. Life is good.
