Exclamation Too much oil in A/C?

I think I messed up! I think I may have too much oil in my A/C system. it gets cool, but not cold. Around 68 degrees instead of 40's. When I hook a charge line to it, there is a bunch of oil that comes out of my fittings when I disconnect. I put oil in a reman compressor, not knowing it may have already had oil in it. Does this sound like what I did? If so, what do I do to fix it? All new A/C parts.

you'll have to properly evacuate the system of frown and drain the oil out of the complete system. your reman compressor should have said if it had oil in it or not. there is documentation stating how much oil should be in your system. I don't remember how much exactly, but it's not that much and is specifically designed to be run in the AC system.

If you have any doubts about how to do it, Get a certified mechanic to assist. AC systems run under pressure and can be dangerous, not only to you but to the ozone as well.

I thought the whole idea behind R134a was that it was NOT destructive to the ozone, unlike the R12 it replaced?

sorry. My bad the ozone depletion is nil, but it still has an impact on our environment. It's better indeed. Now just let me take off my green hat. sorry about that.

No worries. I just felt this terrible desire to go off-topic.....
