Default Really need help !!!! Please help !!

Ok so my truck just started acting this way. Its a 99 dodge ram 1500 5.9 v-8. Just had the tranny rebuilt and was running GREAT.

Now When i go to take off or try to drive at all it sorta bucks and sputters. After it warms up the bucking stops. Not a bad bucking just a little see-saw effect.

Thinking its the fuel pump i can rev it in park and it doesnt sputter or ne thing. I can downshift it manually and It doesnt do it at all but when im driving i can be going 50 in the 2nd gear mode and pop it inot drive and then it will pop and start to sputter.

And it will not speed up after i pop it into drive it will juss will pop and sputter.

I really need this fixed I just got an AWSOME job and I cant loose it to this truck. ANY HELP AND I MEAN ANY HELP will be greatly appreciated.

GOD BLESS !!!

Check fuel pressure. Get any CEL codes? If so, need to know those as well.

49 PSI at idle.

I wonder.... you say the trans was rebuilt? Just as a wild guess, I would suggest looking at the crankshaft position sensor. Its on the bellhousing, passenger side. Hard to see/touch/find....... If it wasn't removed prior to the trans being removed/put back in place, good chance they whacked it. Might wanna take it out, and have a look. If it's busted, get one from the dealer. The aftermarket sensor don't seem to work very well there.

Thats the thing that part is new. But it will rev fine in park and all but when i put it in drive and juss try to floor it it just pops and sputters and wont go until I let off the gas. I was thinking if it was fuel related it would do it in all gears. Like I said I can take off in 1 and 2 but the moment i pop it into "D" it pops and sputters ?

Oreillys .... the stealership wants wayyyy too much. But If that was the problem wouldnt it be throwing a code.I mean it just happened on day. I first noticed like 2 weeks ago the tranny was rebuilt about a month and a half ago. I was trying to pass a 18 wheelers and i went to accelerate anf bam it sputtered and pop for like a second and then it went now today the problem has juss gotten like 10X worse.

Yeah, the dealer commands a steep price for their parts..... but, they WORK. The same can't be said for some of the aftermarket fellers.....

Sensor won't necessarily set a code. That one is a crap shoot......

You could try swapping it out at O'reilys, and install another 'new' one.... see if the problem goes away. Not sure what their warranty policy is on electrical parts though.

Luckily the one I have on there has a lifetime warranty !!! Gonna get a new one today after work and try putting it on and seeing what it does... if it still does it what else could it be. I juss didnt think this sensor was bad cause if it was i wouldnt be able to drive it in "1" or "2" but not in "D"
