So i buy the intake for the truck and went with Spectre because of cost and the fact the design is almost the same between all of them. The issue i'm having is that the throttle linkage does not have full travel due to the plastic hat on the throttle body having a poor design. Has anyone else had this issue, and if so how did you resolve it short of taking off the intake and throwing it in the trash.

 

This is a known issue, and Spectre has since released a newer version of the hat, that provides clearance for the throttle linkage. Contact them directly, and they should send you one.

 

Cool, I tried to give them a call already but it was busy and have me leave a message. And i shot them an email. Hopefully i can get in touch with them today and get this resolved. I went to take off from a light today in a hurry and it felt like the truck had no real get up and go. Probably due to decreased throttle travel.

 

ya i email them and they sent me a new one for free,,,, i just had to email a pic or bill when i bought,,, it sent a pic

 

i guess i bought a newer one then, cuz i have no probs at all.

 

I got a call back from the guys at Spectre and they are sending me a new intake hat. Hopefully the new design is better. I didn't really feel like wasting a bunch of money on a new intake.
