I got the pacesetter long tubes and pacesetter 3" Y pipe, just moved the cat (new magnaflow) to behind the Y. added some cherrybomb flexpipes to keep the headers from cracking. ratchet straps not required. not sure what size your collectors are though.

Thanks much for the information!! The headers I got are shorties....and yes I got them off ebay, these are stainless steel and have real thick flanges. My cat has been replaced with a low restriction replacement so hopefully with the headers I can get a little better MPG thats what I am trying to get, my next project is the hub swap from crappy unit bearings and back to lockouts............Again thanks for the input.

How much are you willing to spend, and what do you do mostly with your truck? Daily driver unloaded? Tow? Off-Road? Drag Race??

heres my setup on the shop floor, making sure I have enough pipe and all the right connections. I sandblasted the headers and gave 'em a good VHT paint job, black. I did have to buy and weld an O2 bung, I got a 2 pack off ebay for under $4 shipped. Oh and the flexpipes arent on the mock up becase it kept falling over but they were $20 at Summit. Cherrybomb brand too. also would up spraying VHT on everything including all the pipes and muffler. only exception was cat, and it was the pretty chromie from Magna.

from what you see, basically got a 4" pipe from Summit, $17. cut it in half to go from the cat to the Super 44, then the other half straight back and dump out. great performance and good for the environment (Im reducing emissions with my cat, are you) and easy for the checkbook.

Edit: I just figured it out, spent about $650 total for the exhaust, to include everything from the headers back, parts, shipping, clamps, paint, and sand to blast the headers.

The welds from the primary tubes to the header flange can crack under heat/stress, especially if there is any tension on the headers. The hardest part about the install was getting the old one off. I ended up cutting about 3 places and unbolting the hangers to get it out.

This is from my initial install, I currently have the truck back apart for main and rod bearings and rings + heads, intake mod, and plenum fix. I only had the exhaust on there for about 2 weeks but it sounded awesome. Ill post more pics in about a week or so when it all goes back together.
