Default Leveling/Lift Kit...need advice

Hey guys so im pickin up my 98 ram 1500 4x4. I got three choices to do so and i want some advice on the cheapest and easiest way. My first choice is a 2.5 inch leveling kit by rough country($100). Second is a 3 inch suspension lift by rough country($499+labour). Or i found a leveling lift kit made by a company called suspensionmaxx...its got a 3 inch front leveling kit and a 2 inch rear block kit($290). Im thinking about the last choice, it seems like a solid product and only reason im doing all this in first place is because my tires rub, should pick it up just the perfect amount. Also if i decide to go with one of the leveling kits is it necessary to get a sway bar link kit as well or can you get away without one? Thanks.

Here's a much better price. No you don't don't need sway bar end links. You don't need anything extra for a 3" lift. If you have a basic set of tools, a jack and jack stands you could easily do this in a day with a friends help.

hey thanks man appreciate it, you just saved me alot of screwin around and some money ha. Should be good, my biggest concern was that i live in canada and i do put weight in my truck in the winter but i think with this kit it should still have enough rake so it wont sack the rear end.

You can buy just the front spacers and shocks as a kit then buy a 2" aal which will also help with payload.

Also hellbentsteel.com makes a 2.5" spacer

Are new shocks necessary? If they are I think i be more comfortable with spendin extra money on this...

...and just replace the blocks with 2" aal for $30 extra. Or else ill just get the 2.5" spacer for front and 2" aal for back and keep stock shocks, wouldnt be more than $200 then. Is the kit i mentioned first worth the extra couple hundred for the 4 shocks and 3" spacers?

I got the lift mentioned in the first response. I also got new rear shocks because I needed new ones. For pics click on the link in my signature. Thats with the truck on 285/75 16 almost 33" tires.

New shocks aren't required but if you need them might as well get them

yeah do it right the first time so you dont have to worry for a while

i didnt install new shocks cause i was cheap at the time, come to find out while installing the spacer, i had to extend the driver side shock by hand cause it was already blown.

now 5 months later i have to tear into the front suspension AGAIN to replace both front shocks.

but this time i have some extra cash so im also gonna get a dual shock mount for the front along with 4 extend length shocks
