Default 94 Dodge Ram 5speed

Hey guys,

I had a dodge dakota for a long time, then took a break from the dodge family for awhile. Now im back in with a 94 dodge ram 1500. Its a 4x4, 5.2, 5 speed. I picked it up for 2,000 and am looking to fix a few things on it and had a few questions.

Problems:
-around the passenger side wheel i hear a clicking sound when braking, it is pretty aparent and not feint. Could this be the u-joints on the axle?

-It has a janky muffler setup on it im probably going to cut it off and put new piping with a quieter muffler(prolly a cheap glasspack or fake flowmaster). What size piping will i need from the manifold back?

Questions:
What kind of straight axle is on this truck? Dana 44? High Pinion?
Stock gear ratio?
Transfer case ratio?

Now i made a Cold Air Intake for my dakota with some ABS piping and clamped a Filter on the end, can i do the same with the ram?

Also as far as Programmers go what are my options?

Ive been on this site a long time and am definitely looking forward to posting up again. Thanks guys!

as for the intake yes u can make ur own.. but specte makes one for 120 or so.. and mopar performance makes a cirlce one for 77 like an old muscle car would have.. only thing u can get for the pcm is a a mopar pcm. programmers wont work cause u dont have obII port because its 94. i believe ur rear end gear is either the 3.55 or 3.92 id say 3.55 not sure with the trans case. and not sure about the noise u hear but somone else will comment more about it..

Front axle is Dana 44, low pinion (you can look at it and tell).

Most likely 3.55 axle ratio, look at the underside of the hood for a tag.

T-case is NP231 which has a 2.72:1 low range.

Tuners - Mopar PCM, B&G flash, custom (Megasquirt ect)
