cyl 1 and 2 misfire
wow you know im just baffled.ive replaced nearly everything except cam and lifters.i cannot get rid of the 1 and 2 misfire .all other cylinders perfect 1 misses a little maybe 20 counts in a minute 2 misses a lot off and on sometimes it wont skip at all .and you almost cant even notice the dang misfire its very small.otherwise the truck runs awesome.truck info ;97 ram 1500 2wd 5.2l ,new injectors, plugs, wires, cap and rotor,t stat, ecm temp sensor,#1 o2 sensor ,plenum is tight and dry.new pcv ,new coil coming this weekend,im hearing just the lightest little lifter tap on the right side front so maybe a worn lifter issue.i dont know.gonna do a leak down test i guess.anybody got any ideas?

Compression test time. The lifter tick is probably unrelated, and even if it does have something to do with it, it would only explain one cylinder.
It could be the coil... seen as how 1&2 cylinder pulses have to travel the farthest (longest wires) they would be the first to have a problem if the coil isn't firing as it should. It should be noted, however, that this is just a theory based on my understanding of the physics of electricity.

i just replaced my cap and rotor a month ago but will be checking it again tomorrow for unusual wear i was told in my thread to crank the motor and watch for wobble on the rotor with the cap off and then take the rotor off and do the same and watch the shaft. also to look for excessive play in the distributer too hopefully that helps you ill be doing it all tomorrow ill let you know.
