Gasket Cement

Gasket Cement
Hey everyone I'm doing the plenum on my truck and in my manual it calls for "quick dry gasket cement" on the cork seals. I called all my local auto stores and they all have no clue what I am talking about and tell me to use black RTV. Does this sound right to you all or is there actually a gasket cement stuff to use?

Just for you youngsters out there in the OLD days we used the cork gaskets for oil pans, differential and valve covers etc. The common procedure was to use gasket shelac or a product I used called coppercoat (I think) to stick the gaskets to the cover so they wouldn't squeeze out and leak. With the newer style of reinforced rubber gaskets or the RTV silicone it is no longer necessary to do this step. Trust me cork gaskets SUCK and are tricky to do right because we are prone to over tighten them and make them squeeze out and leak badly. Just some info for those who don't remember.
