Default Coolant Temp Gauge

I was thinking of connecting the pilar mount coolant temp gauge to the existing (oem) coolant sensor by tapping into the wires. Has any one done this.

Out of curiosity what do expect to gain?

I wonder if the aftermarket gauge would even read properly. It may be expecting different resistances from different temperatures.

Why would you want two of the same gauge? I would unhook the stock sending unit and replace it worth the aftermarket one that comes with the gauge

OEM is PRE radiator the one I'll be installing will be POST radiator.
I wanted to splice into the EOM wires with a switch connected to the after market gauge to read both PRE and POST temps.
Why to the OEM one you might ask. I think the after market one is more acccurate.
I'll be able to monitor the radiator this way.
