Default O/D OFF Button

I'll be moving back home from college this summer, and I'm having my dad bring up a trailer to pack all my **** in. On my way back to my apartment from my last final I decided to push the O/D off button to check it. No matter how many times I press it, nothing happens, the light doesn't come on, and the rpms don't change. Any ideas whats going on?

The light has been known to burn out. Try this, when you at around 65-70 mph, press the OD off button and see if there's a RPM change. If so, then it's working fine and the bulb is burnt out. If not then you either have a wiring problem or the switch is busted.
