Default Im back... and looking at this.

so im buying this truck today and wondered what you guys thought about it. i dont have pictures yet, sorry. ill work on getting some.

1996 ram 1500
175000
crew cab, short bed
3'' body lift
2'' leveling kit
flowmaster exhaust
cd player

the body is rust free, has a few dings and scratches but nothing major. has stock rims and tires on it and looks funny but ill be putting a custom lift on it. plenums blown, but i can fix that myself. has had 4 trannies in it sonce hes had it! lol. other than that the interior is nice and everything else works as far as i no. itsa buddies so i no most of the history on it.

so what do ya think. i offered him 2800 for it. it kbbs at 3500...

I just paid 3200 for that setup minus the body lift. That was a bargain here in CO. With the plenum blown, and his obvious abuse of the drivetrain, I think your offer is very fair. If you have to put a trans in soon, you are over-paying.

$2800 seems to be an average to maybe a little high price around here for a similar truck. It does have the rust free thing going for it though.

Doesn't look bad for 2800.

could also have had larger tires to go with that lift on it before with factory diff gears....that and aggressive driving will burn it up quicker...

Looks like its been in a front end fender bender or off-roading "whoops" as well. I could be mistaken, but I see the front bumper trim not quite lining up with the metal perfectly. The factory units don't usually do that and are almost always perfect, only aftermarket replacements have those little not-quite-fitting imperfections that only another Dodge owner would notice.

I know because I've had two aftermarket replacements myself...

Even with that though... if the tranny holds up, seems like a nice buy to me.
