Od off with load in bed

Default Od off with load in bed

Getting ready for a long haul with my bed loaded down with stuff my question is. I would say I have about 1000 pounds of stuff in my bed should I turn od off with this much weight

Not much different than having five or six people in the cab I should think. O/D should be ok... do you have a trans temp gauge?

nope no trans temp gauge. I do have the factory cooler and fresh fluid and filter...

Having a gauge wouldn't be a bad plan, but, I think you will be ok.

As long as it stays in OD and isnt switching back and forth, you will be fine, I put my ATC in the back all time and never have a problem

I've always wondered if I should turn the od off when I haul my 4 wheeler.

A ATV doesn't weigh that much there would be no need to have OD off unless its always switching in and out my Raptor weights bout 550 and a utility is like around 700 I believe. I cant even tell my ATV is on the back, I had a Yamaha Viper a couple years ago that was a tank drove it Iowa once had to have OD off that was a expensive trip.

yeah i am on my second trip from southern il to southern florida. in byron ga now made it through the mountians no problem i had 1125 pound in the bed gotta love trucker scales lol...And i still got 14.2 mpgs

In my owners manual they suggest for city driving you have the od off button pushed on if that makes sense any opinions on that theory.
