I'm getting ready to install my air gap saturday and was wondering, which RTV would be best for end seals, ultra copper or ultra black. I don't want to use the felpro cork ones because they really suck. I'm leaning towards ultra copper.

Thanks for the link, but I mentioned ultra black and ultra copper because that's what I have and I don't want to buy anything else.

 

Use the black. Worked great for me.

 

I used the copper as its a bit more heat resistant. I think the black is more oil resistant, so its probably a toss up.

 

Once you go black, you'll never go back. I use black for everything.

As I was reading the back of the package, I noticed that is says that it's 2 times stronger between oily surfaces. I'm starting to think I'll just row-sham-bow it. I guess I can't really go wrong.

 

so everyone is using RTV in place of the cork seals?

 

In my experience, cork seals eventually dry up and leak. I would have gone the MOPAR intake set that come with rubber end seals, but they were to expensive.
