Gears are just that. Ring and pinion gears. Install kit is new pinion, and carrier bearings, crush sleeve, and shims that are used to set up the gears.

This is what I have and I'm pleased.

I also bought their master install kits which included all the carrier bearings, crush sleeves, and shims you need. I can't recall the website I bought them off of, but I will check my log later. I know it cost around 1800 installed but that included a detroit locker and detroit Truetrac as well as gear oil.

USA Gears are not recommended, IIRC.

As Aims4Squirrels stated, Yukon are the cheapest gears he'd touch. And he knows what he's talking about.

I have no experience with them. I was lucky enough to get a brand new set of Mopar gears off of craigslist for $80 (3.92s). But, apparently they are made by Yukon, some people speculate they are factory seconds, some people think they are fine.

If it were me (a broke college student), I would buy them and save the $200. Even if they are noisy (which a good installation should help prevent), my truck is loud in all sorts of ways now anyway.

ya same situation.. im just curious if they are gonna hold up or not. noise is no issue to me other people have expensive gears and are noisy. the way my truck is set up with my exhaust under the cab and downflows i would never hear the gear noise guranteed.

also i found these on jegs

Well, one thing that I have never heard of going bad are the gears. The bearings go, but I expect that they will last almost forever.
