that would explain why it sputtered real bad wed morning if the coil is bad
I think that method would work, but, I hesitate to recommend it, as I don't know if you will overload the pcm or anything.......

i gotcha, i just hate to spend another $40 on a coil that might not be the answer, ill test the spark plug on the wire and see it that does anything
I wonder if i can stick a wire in each plug and run a test light through that, that might trick the computer into thinking everthing iss hooked up

The coil may be strong enough to give you spark directly from the coil but not through the distributor. I had a bad coil a few months ago, had spark at the coil but not after the distributor cap. So watch out for that.

Alright ill get a new coil and see what that does, this truck has been through hell and its the first time its never not started

i got a new coil today stuck that baby on and it fired right up, thanks for your help guys
