Default electrical - again won't start

okay thanks in advance -
'99 1500 - will not start - (185,000 miles - one transmission - burning 1qt per 2000 miles - still pulls so am willing to keep her alive and kicking)

drove fine in morning - 2 hours later would not start.
jumped - no go
removed and took to get tested (1 month old battery) - full charge
checked both positive and negative both ends of connections all seem fine -no tears or loose ends

dashboard cluster - no lights
overhead dome light - on
head lights - dim

windows - no power
power seats - operate

ignition key - for the last two years key can be pulled from many positions and care is taken to make sure to turn to upright "off" else runs battery down (put off buying new bc it worked)

So when I turn key to start - no dash lights or intermittent at best
small hum click click at fuse side of car -
no starter noise
checked starter relay - good
trouble pulling 10a fuse for starter so have not checked that but will...

can someone also tell me about the neutral safety switch? never replaced.

thanks again

Do you still have the metal band style battery clamps? I had one of my originals break from being eaten alive by corrosion and it was loose. I replaced them both with the lead ones.
I've also had a no start condition from corrosion on the battery terminals and a scrape with a pocket knife fixed it.
My brother in laws truck has had corroded terminals keep it from starting 3 different times, his battery breathes a lot.

The connections should be tight. If you can wiggle them and can't tighten them down any more then you should replace them.
