Default Plenum welding

What, if any cons are there to welding the hughes plate to the intake? I've searched but haven't came up with anything useful. I have access to a tig and a good welder if i don't think i can do it myself being aluminum.

I always wondered about this and I look forward to seeing what everyone has to say about it. I do know you have to be careful welding cast aluminum.

The only con, if any, would be that you can no longer access the inside of the kegger.

I have no need to get inside, so i dont see why it wouldnt be better. As far as welding cast alum., the machinest where i work has been welding all types of material for his entire life. Hes 69 now so its been awhile.

What about the kegger mod? Have you done that yet? Do you even want to do it?

Not really interested in it. I may be mistaken, but from what seen it doesnt seem to be worth all the work to me.

Neither does welding on a Plate...

I'd be afraid it would warp the manifold, as in it will.

As long as you take your time and allow things to cool as you weld it will be fine. I do autobody as well. It works the same with sheet metal. If you get to hot, yes it will warp.

Sounds like your dead set on welding it on, you have shot down anything anyone has posted....Why did you even ask for any opinions?

Weld away...

the only reason you would weld it is if you are running 6-10 PSI of boost.

And if you do want to do it, forget the TIG, just use durafix. it will not warp:
