Plenum welding
Make a pan with no holes then weld it. No point what so ever to even mess with bolts if your going to weld it. Milling the manifolds pan surface will not effect anything. Bolts being to long is a myth but thats not the topic at hand.
I see your point, but i already have the hughes sitting on my toolbox. Been there for a few weeks now. I just need the rest of the parts and more importantly the time to do it. And the longer it sits there mocking me as i keep adding oil i keep thinking of other parts to get or this whole welding it on deal.
Well, i guess im just gonna bolt it on. Machinest here at work says hes not that good at alum. One last question, is the all metal gasket supplied by hughes any good? Seems odd to put steel between alum.
couple months ago, and a thousand or two miles ago. So far, the truck runs great. (given the amount of money I have sunk into it...... it certainly should....) No evidence of oil in the plenum.
If the fel-pro worked better wouldn't hughes use it? Considering they call it a permanent fix wouldn't they have tested the gasket it comes with?
I'm not saying anything bad about anyone I'm just curious why you feel the fel-pro gasket is better
