Default Steering Stabilizers

Hello, I have a '97 1500 and in need of a steering stabilizer. It's 8" lifted on 37's the problem is, what kind do I get? what is best? The parallel ones or the horizontal ones? The truck doesn't really see much off road, but I still want a decent one that will hold up if I do go out joyriding. Here are a few that I found on eBay:

Thanks, Mike

Not entirely sure what the difference is between the first one, and the last one..... but, a parallel system keeps things up out of the way, (like the first link.....) the kits that have both shocks on the same side have one shock as the lowest point on the axle, and that is just asking for trouble off-road.... Rocks LOVE to 'reach out and touch' those.

Yup, rocks, tree stumps basically anyhting will reach out and destroy them. If it doesn't see much off road then.... I guess it doesnt matter?

i bought the rough country dual stabilizers, it only took me like an hour to remove the old one and bolt up the new setup,
i really love the look, the shocks are white which match my paint.
i now back into my parking spots so i can see my front end as im walking to my truck! lol
ill try to find some before and after pictures and post them up

as for improvement, my factory stabilizer had 110k miles on it and the rod was bent in several places from off roading and had no resistance opening or closing.

the stabilizers almost completely eliminated my death wobble. next im gonna buy the lukes link tracbar rebuild kit and bushing, ive already ordered the rock solid steering fix just waiting for it to arrive.

then a new steering box, box stabilizer, drop pitman arm, sway bar lower brackets and endlinks are on my list.

does anyone know if the sway bar drop brackets will work with the steering box stabilizer?
Should i get longer endlinks if i buy the sway bar brackets or stay with factory length?

sorry for the thread jack

Steering box stabilizer goes above the sway bar mounts, so, the drop brackets should not present any problems.

I would be tempted to just get longer links, and forgo the drop brackets....... lowering things on a truck that goes off-road seems counter-intuitive to me.

alright thanks guys, and do you think these alone would eliminate the sway I have? there's like a foot of play in the road at about 30, im not really sure how to explain it. it almost feels like it drifts off.

Get a front end alignment, and have them set caster to about 3 degrees. Also, make sure all your steering parts are tight. Especially, the track bar.
