Should I get 2-3" or 4-5" shocks on a SPORT with leveling?
This is the problem im having, my shocks on my 01 SPORT are pretty much DONE. Since the SPORT models are 2" lifted both in the front and rear but still has the nose dive, id like to get the 2" leveling spacers in the front, which would mean my truck would then be 4" in the front and 2" in the rear, however, they sell shocks as a package with either a 2-3" or 4-5" lift, well what would you do since obviously the 2-3" would be ideal for the rear but too short for the front while the 4-5" would be ideal from the front but too long for the rear. What to do, 2-3" or 4-5", what matters more, if its too long or too short?
Sport doesn't mean anything.
However, since you have an OFF ROAD Sport, that means that it has the Off Road package, meaning it IS 2 in taller than other Rams.
Just clarifying.
I know nothing of the subject at hand.

Well, couple things to consider here, none of which I am 100% sure on....
First, lifting these trucks over three inches, does odd things to the front suspension geometry, and for the non-off road versions, requires longer control arms, to keep the axle positioned correctly, there is also the possible need for an adjustable track bar, to recenter the axle...... Since it comes from the factory, with 2" of lift, adding another 2, puts you over the magic number of 3, and therefore, it stands to reason that additional measures may be needed, to maintain correct steering geometry.
Second, you don't want to have your shocks acting as bump stops (too long), or, as limiting straps. (too short......) If you don't off-road your off road....... it probably really doesn't matter all that much. Question becomes, is there any difference in the stock shocks, between the off road edition, and the non-OR trucks? Probably looking up part numbers on some site like advance auto would tell the tale there. If the same part numbers are used on both flavors of truck, you should be able to get away with the 2 to 3 inch guys, and be good to go.

yea, opps.... lol, I meant OFF-ROAD, NOT SPORT. So just to confirm, if I was to do the 2" leveling, which means 4" front and 2" rear, you would rather do the 2"-3" shocks over then 4"-5", and NO I will never be off-roading, pretty much ALL HIGHWAY
