Default Leaf springs, coil springs

OK I know this has been up a few times but I cant find the old threads.
I am going to get a set of rear leaf springs, blocks, and frame brackets from a 2001 reg cab 4x4 ctd truck tomorrow. I know the front coil springs give you about 3 inches of lift but will the rear leafs give me any lift? Also how many leafs do some of you guys have in your 2500 and 3500 trucks? Thanks

I was hoping it would lift the truck and the rear would be stiffer.

The 3/4 ton trucks sit a couple inches higher than their half ton counterparts.. so yeah, you will get a bit of lift out of it, and it will most certainly be stiffer.... Might have a bit of a problem with the spring pads on the axle though, the 3/4 ton springs are wider.....

The 3/4 tons don't get there lift from the springs though. You might gain 3/4 inch, just because they won't sag as much. It will be easier and more effective to just put a add a leaf in.

Well I am going to get the springs cheep we are going to trade. I might be getting the front and rear end from him if it has 4.10s in it. It just sucks because last year I got 4.10s put I'm my half ton axles.

Then why not just keep what you've got and spend 70 bucks? Since you're not gonna gain any towing capacity or anything.

Because it is a 1/4 qt of mixed paint and will go bad if it sits too long and I am going to help him cut up the frame that was under my truck to get it out of his yard. My truck wont sag as much when I tow with it right. Also the blocks are taller right?
