Exclamation 2500/3500 rotors & callipers on 2nd gen 1500

I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 and i need to do a brake job on it. I know from some reading that Dodge made the '00-'02 brakes different from the rest of 2nd gen 1500s. My buddy asked a really good question and i've yet to find the answer.

Can I put bigger rotors & callipers on my 2000 Dodge Ram 1500? And if so, what year and model will match up to fit.

We tried looking at an '05 Dodge Ram 1500 rotor and the 3 gens have 17" rims. Im looking for a bigger rotor, but one that still fits the same as a stock rotor. Basically his idea was bigger rotor, less heat, less wear, more stopping power.

I think you can install the large piston calipers from what I think would be the earlier light duty 3/4 ton trucks, not the rotors though, as they would be eight lug.... Starting with the third gen trucks, dodge started using different axles.... lug bolt patterns are reportedly the same though..... I wouldn't hold my breath on that being a direct swap....

Doesn't someone make aftermarket rotors?
