I would disconnect the battery while doing the swap anyway, just in case....

Should solve your issues.

So.. Just got off phone with a tranny genius. Has rebuilt over 400 of these trans.

His feeling was the same, try this solenoid and sensor. If still having prob or it comes back, which in 50% of the time it does, then it is the valve body in tranny.

Same issue as our intake manifold/plenum issue. Aluminum to metal to metal. He pulls valve, sands smooth, re mats, and puts in shift kit.

Kinda sucks, hope the solenoid and sensor cure it..

Well guys, just an update. The solenoid in the link works with pre 2000, but the sensor is for 2000+. But I talked to them and he was able to get me the right one for my 99. Should be here in a few days.

Issue was second gear and bolt cam out. It was skipping 2nd. The bolt got stuck in linkage, and that's what lead to my no park issue. Getting shift kit done while tranny guy is in there. Looks to be less issue than I thought. Should get back tomorrow, ill update with more details.

Got it back. refurbished the valve body. sure cure shift kit. new pistons and servos, band struts, etc.

drove great. but now my truck holds rpms about 3 k under load. after on throttle for a bit the vents go to defrost till I let off. also seems to lose power then. and occasionally check engine light if I floor it up hill.

any ideas?
