Default leaking water pump?

Today I discovered that my water pump is leaking. Anyone know what may have caused this? I'm going to try some stop leak and see if that works if not I'll try replacing it.

Don't use stop leak, just replace the pump. They wear out, and start leaking. It's normal.

they have a weep hole, which is on the top of the pulley and runs down, so if your seeing the water at the bottom and thing its the seal leakin its prob not. the weep hole leakin tell you that its about to go out.

if the seal around the shaft is leaking, that's normal. they just wear out.

stop leak won't seal moving parts. it only seals up stationary leaks where it can clot the hole.

when you replace the water pump, go ahead and pull the timing cover and replace that gasket, timing set, and front seal. its only about 6 more bolts and $75 and because coolant flows through those timing cover channels, that gasket will be about ready to start leaking too.
